“For an early stage start-up, your team can make or break the company. It’s very important to add high-quality, passionate talent and to focus on quality over quantity. You want to be working alongside individuals who are a good cultural fit — the ones who truly believe in your mission and goals.“

About Sankar
After finishing his degree at National Institute of Technology in Calicut, Sankar joined Tavant Technologies as an associate project manager. He then got involved in start-ups, co-founding several and investing in and advising others. He was a member of the founding team at fashion e-commerce company Myntra, and launched ed tech company, AEON Learning (Avaghmah), taking a role as COO.
In 2014, he and his friend Vineet Rao began having frequent discussions about potential mass-market start-ups. Then, one night in 2018 as Sankar was walking home, Rao called him and told him to come right away to meet about a new idea with huge potential. Bora immediately turned around. The discussion flowed for several hours. Within weeks, a team was formed, launching DealShare, with the aim to bring discounted locally-sourced essentials to rural, first-time internet users, using social media messaging apps and gamification, an idea that captivates him to this day.
