A lot of VC’s bet on jockeys. But a fair number tend to bet on the horse. Just give me a big idea where the timing is right and an opportunity that's unstoppable and huge.“

About Peter

Peter Wendell is the founder of Sierra Ventures, a Menlo Park, California technology-oriented venture capital firm. He has served on more than 25 corporate boards of directors, including more than 10 public company boards. Peter also co-teaches “Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital,” a popular course at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and has held a faculty appointment at Stanford since 1991, teaching more than 2,000 Stanford MBAs.

Peter first began to informally advise the advisory principals in 2003, later taking on a senior adviser role and joining the board of directors. He recently completed his trusteeship at Princeton. A big and early proponent of SaaS, Peter believes we’re still only at an early stage in exploring artificial intelligence and the good it could do for the world.
