About Dhiren
Dhiren Ponnusamy serves on the Board of Directors at WestBridge. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Dhiren is a business leader with extensive international experience across banking, real estate, and corporate transformation. He currently serves as the Managing Director of the Currimjee Group, a Mauritian conglomerate with business interests spanning telecommunications, FMCG, hospitality, real estate, amongst others.
Before joining Currimjee in late 2025, Dhiren served as Group CEO of Medine, another Mauritian conglomerate. He joined Medine in 2018 as Chief Operating Officer and rose to CEO in July 2021, having first acted in the role during the COVID‑19 period. Under his leadership, Medine undertook major strategic shifts aimed at strengthening financial performance and long‑term resilience, as well as initiating and overseeing large transformative real estate developments on the west coast of Mauritius.
Prior to returning to Mauritius, Dhiren built a distinguished 12‑year career at Standard Chartered Bank, holding senior leadership roles in South Korea, Singapore, Africa, the Philippines, and ultimately London, where he served as Managing Director at the bank’s head office.
Dhiren has chaired and served on numerous boards. He is the current Chairman of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.
A committed leader with a reputation for strategic vision and operational discipline, Dhiren continues to play a significant role in shaping corporate leadership and governance within Mauritius’ evolving economic landscape.
