LEAD School
“Talent is equally distributed but opportunity is not. I decided to change this sense of unfairness into a sense of purpose by asking: How do I bring equity of opportunity so that a child born in a small town or a low-income family has access to the same high quality education that a rich child from metro does? I believe that if we can transform schools where a child spends six hours everyday, we can transform India.“

About Sumeet
With both parents as teachers, Sumeet, CEO and Co-Founder, LEAD, has education in his blood. Sumeet has made it his life's mission to solve one of the biggest challenges in India's education system: the gap in the quality of schooling available in its small towns compared to its larger cities and metros. By focusing on the tougher goal of transforming school systems, he has chosen to stay off the beaten track followed by a majority of consumer K-12 ed-tech companies that focus primarily on after-school solutions.
Sumeet and his co-founder began LEAD as a school with 14 students in a village on the outskirts of Ahmedabad in 2012.
Now, with over 3,500 partner schools and 1.4 million students later, LEAD is today poised for accelerated growth as the third largest school ed tech company, globally. His ambition is to solve for the needs of the over 140 million students across nearly 450,000 schools in India, by leveraging technology and innovation in curriculum and pedagogy.
Before founding LEAD, Sumeet was CEO at Zee Learn, where he scaled the company five times with presence across pre-schools, K-12 schools and school solutions. Prior to this, he spent eight years at Procter & Gamble Singapore, where he led Healthcare and Skincare businesses across the APAC region.
Sumeet is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and PEC Chandigarh.
